About me

I’ve been supporting people with their mental health and emotional well-being since 2011, and in 2014, began working in private counselling practice from home.  I also work and volunteer at two other agencies in Plymouth – Pregnancy Crisis Care (Plymouth & SE Cornwall) and SALT (South West).

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and a Foundation Degree in Counselling (Open University). I’m also a qualified Supervisor. I completed my training as an Integrative Counsellor at Heartwood Institute of Counselling & Psychotherapy (www.heartwoodcounselling.org) in Dartington, Devon.  I believe each person is unique, with differing thoughts, feelings and responses.  I use a model of counselling called Gestalt therapy.  This considers the whole person – mind, body, spirit and emotion.  I also integrate approaches and methods from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, Body Process, Transpersonal and Inner Child. My practice offers a range of creative counselling resources which can be useful in helping the processing and expression of difficult feelings.  I have particular experience in working with clients facing trauma, loss, bereavement, pregnancy-related crises, and abuse.

I provide sensitive, ethical, professional counselling, psychotherapy and supervision, and as a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their Ethical Framework and Good Practice Guidelines.  A copy can be found at: www.bacp.co.uk.  My BACP Membership No is 714416, and my BACP Registered number is: 062864.
